NYFW SS16: KahriAnne Kerr

A narrow, marble staircase led the way up to KahriAnne Kerr‘s quaint and pop art-inspired NYFW debut which kicked off Day 1 at the The Gregory Hotel in NYC. Upon entering, a vibrant, summery array of colorful print motifs of lips, lipsticks, watermelon, sunglasses and ice cream prints from her contemporary line of tops, shorts, skirts and swimwear for Spring/Summer 2016 adorned one wall, while her extensive and adorable fashion caricature dolls collection greeted smiling guests on the other.

Summer-ready pillows and accessories in matching bright prints were strewn across the table where Kahri offered visitors a chance to not only watch her paint but get a  personal portrait made which she created for guests in real time – definitely a Fashionweek treat.  Guests could also receive a complimentary hair makeover next door at Caravan hair salon to make sure their watercolor portrait looked NYFW-special. From a variety of fashion icons including Karl, Anna, Pharrell, Donatella, Dianne von Furstenburg and Andy Warhol – to more current style editors and bloggers like Susie Bubble and Kate Lamphear, each fashion personality doll is handmade and retails for $30.

Growing up on a farm outside rural Iowa, KahriAnne Kerr began to make a name for herself learning how to sew and design on her own while earning various opportunities in Iowa to showcase her fashion-forward designs.

Currently Kahri’s collection includes millinery and handbags to coordinate with the hip, funky, rocker chic women’s contemporary clothing line.  KA by KahriAnne Kerr was launched specifically for the rebellious though cost-conscious fashionista.

KAHRI designs and accessories comes at a very relevant time where fashion is less just about the clothes but the whole lifestyle. And now it can be made more complete with your own KAHRI fashion icon doll. KAHRI products are sold throughout the US and worldwide and proudly made in NYC.
