Inspired by “Alice in Mirrorland” Syndrome, Designer Ji Youn Lee tinkered with the audience’s perceptions of reality with this season’s designs. Outlined in white and meticulously highlighting each detail, well-tailored black denim served as the collection’s building block. Vivid pink eye makeup paired with blood red lips contrasted sharply with the dominant dark hues, the monotony broken up by a smattering of royal blues. Cropped sweaters and fur shawls softened the models’ stern looks, as check prints fluttered down the runway. Ruffles, textured pockets, and buckles were the ideal accents, blending masculinity and femininity through seemingly contradictory characteristics. Through fierce and versatile pieces with a classic feel, Jarret succeeded in leaving viewers’ minds in disarray.
