As one of the four chosen winners of the DHL Exported fashion contest Italian designer, Francesca Liberatore, was given a unique opportunity to debut her spring 2015 collection at New York Fashion week on Sept 10th, and excitedly, to a very full house.
While her spring collection showed mostly womenswear, the men’s looks were equally poignant. Front and center was a familiar animal motif symbolizing spring, birds, and their transformation within their environment, which seemed to be a key theme throughout the line.
One of the highlights from the men’s looks showcased an Italian David-esque model, who with his long curly locks, perfectly captured the romantic movement of his silk bird themed shirt. There was an angelic, almost somber mood at the show with serene instrumentals complimenting the bird-themed journey while angular shapes, leather pieces, vests, and unique footwear that included painted toe-nails also spoke to the modern man, who is also relaxed and carefree.
As it is always a special treat to see the debut line of a budding designer, we hope Francesca Liberatore’s and her spring collection, like the birds that inspired her, only continue to soar.
