Originally starting in Barcelona, French designer Claude Garrigues of CGBCN found himself in Cambodia designing fabulously offbeat clothes. Walking down the road to high fashion, Garrigues has always done things his way. His path of designing t-shirts for men and women’s pieces has led him to solely create for women, with a brand that promotes exclusivity. Black dominates the collections, finding a home in the chic, reasonably-priced apparel; zippered, pinned, and threaded. Finding inspiration in Asian traditional clothing, Garrigues has worked hard and successfully carried his conceptions to Asia. CGBCN, a part of the biggest fashion event “Cambodia Fashion Illumination 2014”, continues to enhance its appeal in unexpected ways. Crazy accessories and art dolls take Garrigues out of the box, while prominent shapes, heavy textures, and mix-matched fabric presents closet staples with love in the stitches. While Garrigues presented his first full show in Phnom Penh just last year, there is no question that he will quickly climb the ranks of the fashion-forward and fabulous.
