Over the weekend IFBK attended 2014 Korea Style Week (KSW) at COEX in Seoul. KSW is a four day event that boasts some of the best rising stars in Korean fashion. A wide range of new designers and indie brands come to KSW to promote their designs to domestic and international buyers. Exhibitor types include: women’s, men’s, and kid’s wear, bags and shoes, jewelry and accessories, outdoor and sportswear, and lingerie and swim wear. In addition there are runway shows, styling classes, and other interactive events.
On Friday we saw the Hong Seung-Ae Rayon Korea show. The spring collection was full of color, and in your face patterns that blended together seamlessly. The show presented both women’s and men’s looks that were sure to get anyone excited for spring. For the women’s looks it was all about a feminine silhouette of flowy and airy dresses, and flirty skirts paired with more structured tops. The men’s looks focused on matching sets made up of bright colors and patterns or textured materials with see through details. The collection definitely had some inspiring pieces that are to ascend this designer to the next level.
